Founder & Chief Vision Officer

Dr. Fisseha Habtemariam is the Founder and CVO of American Investment Fund Holding, bringing over three decades of experience at the intersection of education, healthcare, and large-scale economic development across Africa and the United States. He founded Unity University, Ethiopia’s first and largest accredited private university, where he served over 35,000 students during his presidency. He recently led the capitalization of PurposeBlack Ethiopia, securing $50 million from global investors to transform agricultural value chains. Dr. Habtemariam holds an MD, an MPH, and has completed doctoral coursework in Organizational Leadership. He is the author of ten books, including 9 out of 10 Startups Fail: Don’t Be One of Them.

Pinak Bhattacharjee

Co-Founder & CEO

Pinak is a globally accomplished operator-investor with over two decades of leadership experience spanning complex, high-growth, and capital-intensive business environments across the Americas, EMEA, UK, APAC, and ANZ. As Co-Founder & CEO of AIIH LLC, he is responsible for driving the firm’s global strategy, investment platform, and operational execution alongside Dr. Habtemariam. Over a 23+ year career, Pinak has consistently delivered outsized outcomes—generating over $3B in net new business, building a $6B+ pipeline, and achieving industry-leading profitability metrics, including EBITDA margins up to 65% and NRR exceeding 200%. His leadership spans 18 industry verticals, working across product OEMs, technology firms, and global consulting organizations, with P&L ownership ranging from $3M to $1B+. Pinak has executed $2.5B+ in M&A and strategic investments across 50+ geographies, including 27+ buy-side and 10+ sell-side transactions, contributing to $10B+ in assets under management. Most notably, he led the end-to-end strategy and execution of the $1.5B acquisition of RIB Software SE by Schneider Electric at a 50% premium, overseeing origination, financial structuring, due diligence, negotiations, regulatory alignment, and post-merger integration.

Jayabrata Bhaduri is the CEO of CapaCloud Corp, with 16 years of experience scaling high‑impact technology globally. He is the recipient of the Tata Business Leadership Award and a winner of the University of Chicago Urban Labs award. An inventor and researcher, he holds three patents in manufacturing and has published seven papers in artificial intelligence, amassing over 1,400 citations. Jayabrata has taken the TEDx stage to discuss the role of technology in combating climate change, and brings deep expertise in AI, deep learning, and computer vision to the American Investment Fund.

Dr. Nouman AL Mussawi

Co-Founder & Chief Investment Officer

Dr. Nouman AL Mussawi is a global finance expert who has closed more than $53 billion in FINRA/SEC‑registered transactions and directed a $180 billion investment pipeline. He brings deep expertise in financial engineering, private equity, M&A, and embedded finance, working with major bulge bracket banks and top U.S. and global investment firms across North America, Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia‑Pacific. He holds a Summa Cum Laude Ph.D. in Finance & Economics (Quantum Finance) and an MSc in Risk Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires (QS World Ranking #69), and speaks over eight languages fluently. Dr. Nouman recently teamed up with Mr. Franco Scalamandre, LA Family Office Sterling Atlantic, to raise $150MM Equity component for a Tanzanian-based Project involving US/Australia/Africa combination, along with a $280MM Loan from the US Exim Bank.

Professor P. L. O. Lumumba

Professor P. L. O. Lumumba is a distinguished jurist, scholar, and one of Africa’s most revered voices on governance, ethical leadership, and Pan‑African development. He is the former Director of the Kenya Anti‑Corruption Commission and the Founder & Chairman of the PLO Lumumba Foundation, which champions accountability, institutional reform, and socio‑economic progress across the continent. A powerful orator and thought leader, his lectures have inspired leaders across governments, corporations, and global institutions. Professor Lumumba holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Ghent and has been awarded Kenya’s Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS). Craig J. Berk is an accomplished attorney with over 25 years of legal experience and the Principal of The Berk Law Firm, LLC in Maryland and Washington, D.C. He serves as outside counsel to American Investment Fund Holding, ensuring rigorous compliance with all government regulations and ethical obligations. His practice emphasizes a client‑centered approach across corporate law, civil litigation, and intellectual property. Before founding his own firm, Mr. Berk worked for several top‑25 law firms in the District of Columbia, bringing deep expertise in complex legal challenges and fiduciary representation.

As CEO of the IAEEJV, she leads the operational execution of the Impact Africa Economic Ecosystem, overseeing capital deployment, partnership development, and ecosystem integration across 12 African markets. She previously founded Zanar Entertainment, Rasjudah Clothing, Entreeg Records, and Entreeg Investment Group, and advises multiple global enterprises on market entry and scale-up strategy in emerging economies.

Dr. James Micah Onsando

Founding Senior Vice President, Agricultural Value Chains & Food Security

Dr. James Micah Onsando brings over 40 years of experience across public research, commercial agribusiness, and regulatory leadership. He began his career as a Plant Pathologist at Kenya’s Horticultural Research Institute (now KALRO) and the Tea Research Foundation of Kenya. He then moved to Unilever, where he served as Technical & Quality Control Manager for Sulmac Flowers and later as Head of Agricultural Research, Innovation & Tea Sustainability—building deep expertise in supply chains, product commercialisation, and sustainable agriculture.

Dr. Onsando was appointed Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director of the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS), the country’s agricultural regulatory agency and a regional centre of excellence. Under his leadership, KEPHIS acceded to UPOV, OECD seed schemes, IPPC, and ISTA accreditation—positioning Kenya as a preferred fresh‑produce trading partner. He also led the WTO‑SPS initiative to introduce high‑dry‑matter Irish potatoes from the Netherlands, saving foreign currency and creating a new value chain for frozen chips exports.

He holds a BSc from the University of Nairobi, an MSc in Plant Pathology from the University of Hawaii, and a PhD from Kenyatta University. He has 30 publications, including two book chapters. As Project Leader for the Gates‑funded Africa Bio‑fortified Sorghum Project, he coordinated a multi‑country consortium targeting food security for 300 million Africans. He currently serves as Chairman of Council of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), leading commercialisation of university R&D and patents. He brings over 24 years of board experience, including at Kenya Forestry Research Institute and the National Biosafety Authority.

Dr. Jonathan King, Ph.D.

He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and a PhD, and serves as a strategic advisor to American Investment Fund on capital mobilization, sovereign engagement, and cross-border investment structuring across the African continent.

Dr. Kwame Acquaah

Founding Senior Vice President, Networking & Ghana Lead

Dr. Kwame Acquaah is a leader, entrepreneur, and community development advocate bridging Ghana and the United States. As CEO of DIDIA Farms (Ghana) Ltd., he oversees a 30‑acre integrated agricultural enterprise focused on sustainable food production and rural economic empowerment. Dr. Acquaah has also served in senior oversight capacities for the State of California, including as Chief Information Security Officer and Lead Risk Management Strategist. He holds a Doctor of Management degree in Organizational Leadership and mentors students at Ashesi University in Ghana and Southern New Hampshire University.

Dr. John Ondiek

Dr. John Olonde Ondiek is an international development executive with over 30 years of experience in partnership development, public policy advisory, and agricultural quality systems management. He has led complex multi‑stakeholder projects across East Africa, including a strategic partnership between Project C.U.R.E. and the Kenya Red Cross Society to strengthen healthcare delivery. Dr. Ondiek holds a Doctorate in Global Business and Leadership, dual MBAs in Marketing and Project Management, and is an accomplished horticultural farmer specializing in crop production in semi‑arid regions of Kenya.

Ms. Jacqueline S. Nnamata, MPH, LVN

Jacqueline S. Nnamata is a healthcare professional and global health advocate, currently serving as a nurse with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from California State University, Sacramento, and is deeply committed to advancing health equity and empowering communities through evidence‑based practice. Hassana Abubakar is a power systems and industrial automation engineer with over a decade of experience at Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MESL), the concessionaire of Nigeria’s Kainji and Jebba hydroelectric plants (total 1,338.4 MW). As SCADA Engineer, she oversees system planning, PLCs, DCS, and control systems for renewable energy infrastructure. She also serves as a 2025 TechWomen Emerging Leader (U.S. Department of State) and founder of CatchHer Young STEM Girls Program, mentoring girls into renewable energy and automation. As Founding Chairperson of Nigeria’s 250×2040 Movement Committee, she connects underserved communities to capital and opportunity.

Edwin Naidu

Founding Senior Vice President, Strategic Communications – South Africa

Edwin Naidu is a strategic communications manager in South Africa’s financial services sector (Nedbank Group) and an award‑winning journalist with three decades of experience. He founded Higher Education Media Services, a social enterprise focused on education and social justice reporting. He has held senior editorial roles at The Sunday Independent, The Star, and the Mail & Guardian, and currently serves as a commissioner with the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA. Kedamawit Eshetu-Davidson is a healthcare executive with over 25 years of nursing and clinical leadership experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and currently serves as a Nurse Manager at Methodist Hospital of Sacramento, California, and as a clinical instructor at Sacramento State University. Baraka Mfilinge

Founding Chairperson, 250×2040 Global Movement – Tanzania Chapter

Baraka Mfilinge is a monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) specialist with a Master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation. He serves as MEAL Specialist at Untold Foundation and Managing Partner at Ufanisi Knowledge Hub. As Vice Chair of EvalYouth Global Management Group and Co‑Leader of AfrEA Young and Emerging Evaluators (YEEs), he champions evidence‑driven transformation across Africa. He is the recipient of the Tanzania MEL Week 2025 Award for excellence in evaluation, and brings rigorous impact measurement to the 250×2040 movement.

Zingisa Mkhuma

Founding Editorial Director – Higher Education Media Services (South Africa)

Zingisa Mkhuma is a veteran media executive with more than 30 years of experience editing major South African newspapers, including business publications. As Editorial Director and co‑founder of Higher Education Media Services (HEMS), she leads a start‑up dedicated to promoting democracy, human rights, and economic empowerment through education journalism. She has created and delivered training programs for journalism interns, and has consistently championed the voices of the poor and marginalized, aligning with AIF’s mission to build equitable economic ecosystems.

Wiseman Masika

Founding Chairperson – Eswatini Chapter, 250×2040 Movement

Wiseman Masika is a passionate environmental innovator and social impact leader dedicated to advancing sustainability and youth empowerment in Eswatini. He served as the CEO of Enactus UNESWA Luyengo for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 terms, leading impactful initiatives such as a project that transforms chicken feathers into organic fertilizer, trading as Nutri-Plume Eco Solutions (Pty) Ltd, where he also serves as a Director. Under his leadership, the team earned both national and international recognition, representing Eswatini at the Enactus World Cup in Astana, Kazakhstan (2024) and Bangkok, Thailand (2025). He was honoured with the CEO of the Year Award at the 2025 Enactus Eswatini National Competitions. Wiseman also served as a UNDP Student Ambassador for the 2025 Cohort and is the founder of Greenwise Horticultural Solutions, a business focused on sustainable landscaping and environmental stewardship.

Mohamed Ismail

Project Manager & Youth Development Specialist – Egypt

Mohamed Ismail brings over six years of experience in civil society organizations and two years as an educator in English and physics. He has founded or co-founded three organizations and currently serves as Project Manager at Ray of Thought Vision and Project Coordinator at Sama Nasser Charitable Foundation. He holds certifications in STEM, climate finance, green bonds, social entrepreneurship, and peacebuilding. His expertise in socioeconomic development, energy, and climate change, combined with project management and strategic planning, supports AIF’s capacity‑building and youth engagement efforts across Egypt.

Olivier Makambira

Founding Chairperson – Burundi Chapter, 250×2040 Global Movement

Olivier Makambira is a strategic leader and evaluation expert with a proven track record in designing and assessing inclusive development programs. He has implemented large‑scale face‑to‑face and digital surveys, including during the Covid‑19 pandemic for Cordaid’s Strategic Partnerships Program. As a founding chairperson within the 250×2040 movement, he mobilizes communities, facilitates multi‑stakeholder collaboration, and aligns local initiatives with continental job‑creation goals. His evidence‑based, equity‑focused leadership is critical to connecting Burundian communities with capital and innovation.

MANIRAKIZA Joel Samson RUVUGO

Founding President & CEO, Ruci Brain Center – Burundi

MANIRAKIZA Joel Samson RUVUGO holds a Master of Public Health from Manchester Metropolitan University (UK) and is pursuing a PhD in Global Health. He is the Founding President & CEO of Ruci Brain Center in Burundi, Country Coordinator for the international People’s Health Movement Burundi, and a Modules Leader and Tutor for the global Public Health University. Since 2014, he has provided public health capacity building to healthcare professionals and communities in low‑and middle‑income countries, partnering with local and international organizations to uplift health interventions across Burundi.

Djarudi HABIMANA

Founder & Executive Director – Benevolence is Love (BIL), Rwanda

Djarudi Habimana is a Rwandan changemaker and founder of Benevolence is Love (BIL), a youth‑led NGO empowering vulnerable families through education scholarships and small business capital for single mothers. He is currently pursuing a degree in Public Administration and Local Governance at the University of Kigali. As a UPG Sustainability Leader, he is passionate about inclusive education, youth empowerment, and sustainable community development, aligning directly with the IAEE’s people‑centered impact goals.

Moise IRADUKUNDA

Head of Partnership Task Force, Nature Working Group – YOUNGO (UNFCCC)

Moise Iradukunda is an innovator, business specialist, and theologian who leads the Partnership Task Force within YOUNGO’s Nature Working Group under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). He is the founder of an AI‑driven climate start‑up that integrates technology, ethics, and sustainability to promote environmental resilience across Africa. His global youth partnership experience and expertise in nature‑based solutions are instrumental to the IAEE’s planet‑focused triple bottom line.

Mark Garmonjue-Nagbe Gray

Communication Officer – Women Empowerment for Self-Employment (WE4SELF), Liberia

Mark Garmonjue-Nagbe Gray is a Liberian youth leader and social impact advocate with a focus on human rights, gender equality, climate justice, and economic empowerment. As Communication Officer at WE4SELF (a leading Liberian NGO founded in 2006), he leads initiatives that strengthen women’s economic independence and amplify grassroots voices. He has served as Country Manager of Project Peace Light Africa, County Coordinator for Youth for Human Rights International, and Regional Coordinator for Youth in Arts and Technology Network. Recognized as a Global SGBV Ambassador and Young Reporter of the Year, he brings advocacy and communication expertise to the 250×2040 movement.

Hon. Tarnue Marwolo Bongolee

Founding Chairperson – Liberia Chapter, 250×2040 Global Movement

Hon. Tarnue Marwolo Bongolee is a Liberian public servant, educator, and youth advocate shaped by the Liberian civil conflict. He holds a BA from the University of Liberia, a Master’s in Public Management from Beijing Normal University, is currently pursuing a Master’s in Education Leadership & Policy at American University, and a Bachelor of Laws at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law. He served as Assistant Minister for Student Personnel Services at Liberia’s Ministry of Education, leading national initiatives in student welfare, school health, and school feeding. He also lectures English Literature at the University of Liberia and African Methodist Episcopal University, and serves as Advocacy & Accountability Specialist for a USAID education project. He champions educational justice, youth leadership, and institutional accountability across Liberia.

Vincent Mugwati

Founding Chairperson – Zimbabwe Chapter, 250×2040 Global Movement

Vincent T. Mugwati is a medical student and global health advocate. He serves as Youth Leader for Rare Diseases International, Global Youth Ambassador for Theirworld, and National Coordinator for the ZiMSA Rare Diseases Initiative. As Founding Chairperson of the Zimbabwe 250 Movement National Committee, he leads efforts to foster innovation, inclusion, and sustainable growth in healthcare and youth development. Mahamadi ZOUNDI is a young leader, social entrepreneur, and community advocate from Burkina Faso. Helen Bour is a public health researcher and emerging leader dedicated to advancing equitable development across Africa. Her work bridges research, policy, and community empowerment to drive sustainable change.
