The 250X2040 Global Movement has officially launched, spearheaded by the American Impact Investment Holding, marking a significant step towards transformative economic change. The inaugural meeting of the movement established the 250×2040 Movement Global Founding Leadership Team, comprised of 30 ambassadors from diverse countries, including Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, South Africa, Tanzania, the USA, and Canada.
This leadership team is tasked with steering the movement’s overall direction, ensuring alignment across all levels, and engaging in high-level decision-making. Their responsibilities focus on resource allocation and cultivating partnerships that will drive the movement’s ambitious goals.
The mission of the 250X2040 Global Movement is to rally global support behind the 250 Movement, which aims to create 250 million jobs and establish 50,000 sustainable communities across Africa by 2040. CEO Michelle Yavrom emphasized that the initiative is rooted in economic justice and aligns with 15 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. She elaborated on the critical roles of Global Founding Ambassadors, highlighting the necessity of social capital and community engagement for the movement’s success.
Key objectives include creating 250 million jobs, impacting one billion people, raising 20 billion USD, and mobilizing at least one million ambassadors worldwide. Membership in the movement is voluntary and free, inviting both individuals and institutions to join the cause of Community Economic Empowerment. Members are encouraged to dedicate one day a week to activities that promote the movement—ranging from campaigning and social media engagement to community support and fundraising.
